What You will Learn
Count on an intensive week of creation!
Permaculture offers real solutions to the enormous problems our world is facing today, utilizing the wisdom of ecology instead of fighting against it. It is a system of ideas and principles that are built on much of our lost ancestral knowledge, employing the research and technologies of today, giving students the techniques and skills to create systems that sustain human needs as well as the needs of the earth. Move away from chemically dependent water sucking landscapes to a more permanent productive form of agriculture that will take care of you more than you have to take care of it. Turn your property and neighborhood into a model of resilience and abundance; creating life-sustaining systems that care for all beings. Come away with the powerful knowledge of survival and how to create self-sustaining edible landscapes. You will be Certified in Permaculture Design! Topics Covered: o The Ethics and Principles of Permaculture o Pattern recognition in natural and cultural systems o Earth and water manipulation techniques o Property observation, climates and microclimates o Gardening and farming systems o Seed saving and plant propagation o Implementation of animals and wildlife o Biological pest control o Local plant functions and guild concepts o Aquaponics and aquacluture o infrastructure and energy- appropriate technologies o Soil fertility and management o Invisible structures such as consultation, culture, and financial opportunities | |||||||
